Animal Crossing: The beginning to a better guide

I am one of the many people that have been engrossed in the animal crossing craze. But one thing that I’ve noticed, that has become very bothersome, is how annoying it is to switch between a million different wikis and websites to gather the information that I need. And so, thus, my own unofficial guide is born. This first chapter, I’d like to just focus on some of the tips for those who are just starting out.
Starting an island
When you load the game up for the first time, most people don’t think much of it when they are picking an island. However, I’m telling you now that it does matter. One thing to keep in mind is that you will not have a vaulting pole first starting out, and it will take some hours of work to get to that point, or days if you are not time traveling. So my advice to you is to pick an island with a lot of land before the river. You’ll have to put your house and two other villagers houses, at least, on this side of the land before you can finally get the vaulting pole to travel further.
The other thing you will want to consider is how you will want your island to look later on. I know that it may be hard to think about, but trust me, if a majority of the island is already shaped how you want it shaped, it will make things easier for you in the end because there will be less land to chop away. so something to keep in mind. There will be fifteen different buildings that you will have to position. They can be moved much later in the game, but again, if they’re put where you want the first time, things are faster and cheaper. It costs 10,000 bells to move any of the buildings. So it’s helpful if you can think ahead. Of the fifteen buildings, there are:
10 villager houses
1 house of your own
1 Nook’s Cranny
1 Museum
1 Clothing shop,
and 1 campsite.
So figure out where you want all those things to go, first. You should be able to open up a map of the island from your nook phone, once you’ve chosen the island. But think long and hard about what island you want before you select it! Up next, I’ll talk about villagers and all their mechanics!
